A murder charge has been laid against a southern Alberta woman who allegedly called police to report she had shot and killed her husband.
Police said they were called to a rural address west of Didsbury, Alta., at about 6 p.m. MT on Friday. Officers found a 68-year-old man dead at the scene.
A 60-year-old woman was arrested without incident and charged with second-degree murder, police said. She is to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court on Monday.
Police wouldn't release the victim's name. In a written statement, they said the accused and victim were not subjects of any previous domestic violence investigation.
