HYDERABAD: A housewife, P Sharada, 24, committed suicide by hanging herself to a ceiling fan in her house at Nagarjuna Colony, Road No. 1, under Kushaiguda P S limits at around 1:30 pm on Monday. She has two children P Shiva Kumar (7) and P Pavan Kumar (5) and married P Venkateswarlu eight years ago.
According to Kushaiguda police, the incident came to light when her husband, P Venkateswarlu, a mason, came to the house for lunch. He found the doors locked and after knocking when there was no response, he opened the windows and found her hanging from the ceiling fan. The two children had gone to school at that time.
According to a complaint lodged by Sharada's father, Sailu, with the Kushaiguda police, against his son-in-law, P Venkateswarlu had sadist behaviour and unable to bear it, she took the extreme step. A case was registered under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the IPC, added police. Venkat was arrested and sent on judicial remand.
